Plagiarism and Copyright Policy

1. Policy Overview

Nexus Engineering Chronicle upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly ethics. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous similarity check to ensure originality, proper attribution, and compliance with international standards of ethical publishing. Plagiarism, in any form, is considered a serious breach of research ethics and will not be tolerated.

2. Plagiarism Screening Process

  • The journal employs Turnitin and iThenticate as primary plagiarism detection tools.
  • Each manuscript is subjected to a similarity check prior to peer review.
  • A threshold of less than 15% similarity (excluding references, standard phrases, and methodology repetitions) is considered acceptable.
  • Reports are carefully evaluated by the editorial team to distinguish between legitimate similarity (such as technical terminology, references, or unavoidable overlaps) and unethical copying.

3. Categories of Plagiarism and Consequences

  1. Minor Plagiarism (Similarity <15%)
    • Includes small instances of overlapping text or improper citation without malicious intent.
    • Authors will be notified and requested to revise the manuscript to ensure proper paraphrasing and citation.
    • Manuscript will proceed for review only after satisfactory revision.
  2. Moderate Plagiarism (Similarity 15–30%)
    • Indicates significant portions of overlapping material or inadequate paraphrasing.
    • Authors will be required to make major revisions to address the issues.
    • The revised manuscript will be re-screened prior to further consideration.
    • Repeated instances may lead to temporary rejection or suspension from future submissions.
  3. Severe Plagiarism (Similarity >30%)
    • Constitutes extensive textual overlap, duplication of previously published work, or direct copying without attribution.
    • The manuscript will be immediately rejected.
    • Authors engaging in such practices may be blacklisted from submitting to Nexus Engineering Chronicle in the future.
    • Depending on the severity, the editorial board reserves the right to notify the author’s institution or funding body.

4. Copyright Policy

  • Authors submitting manuscripts to Nexus Engineering Chronicle confirm that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere (except as part of a thesis/dissertation or preprint with disclosure), and is not under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
  • Upon acceptance, authors must transfer copyright to Nexus Engineering Chronicle, while retaining the right to:
    • Use the content in future works (e.g., books, teaching material, presentations) with proper acknowledgment.
    • Share the published version on institutional repositories or personal websites, subject to journal citation.
  • Any use of copyrighted material (e.g., images, figures, tables) within the manuscript must be accompanied by appropriate permissions from the copyright holder.
  • The journal adheres to international copyright and intellectual property standards to protect both authors and the integrity of published content.

5. Ethical Responsibility
